An Adjustment is the subtle movement of a vertebrae in the spine to attempt to restore proper motion and function of a joint. When vertebrae are out of alignment it can cause acute symptoms including: headaches, neck pain, low back pain, decreased range of motion and decreased strength. If left untreated, the misaligned (subluxated) vertebrae can develop osteoarthritis and other chronic health concerns. These misalignments can occur from auto accidents or work injuries, as well as subtle stresses from our everyday life, (poor posture, bending, lifting, or stress in general). Adjustments are effective in the overall health of your spine, which protects your nervous system; the most important system in your body.
therapeutic massage therapy
The benefits of massage therapy are well noted. Throughout the years, massage therapy has been known to be effective in helping a number of conditions. Rehabilitative or therapeutic exercises is an important way to strengthen and support the cervical, thoracic, and lumbo-pelvic spine to adequately maintain posture and minimize stress and potential injuries in the spine. Strengthening the postural muscles to help hold the spine in an ideal position is key to slow down the aging process in the spine. Exercises can prescribed to be performed in the office one-on-one or for home use to support an existing exercise program. Our goal is to give you the tools to best improve your health.
Chiropractic is an excellent means of dealing with on the job injuries. If there's an injury on the job and you've gone down the traditional medical road to be treated, it may be time to give chiropractic a try. You do not need a referral to see a Chiropractor for a work injury claim. If you have reported the accident at work and opened a claim, then all you need is your claim number and you can make an appointment. If you haven't opened a claim, our office is able to assist in opening the claim for you. If there are other health care practitioners that you need to be referred to, we will be happy to work with others to make sure you get the best help possible. Chiropractors are professionals at dealing with underlying issues that potentially could be missed by other providers. Locating the source of your injury could be the difference between fixing an issue and living with something for a long period of time.
auto accidents/personal injury
Auto accidents and/or personal injury can be a very difficult event for an individual to deal with. Besides dealing with insurance companies, you may have sustained injuries that do not allow you to work or perform many or all of your daily activities. Whiplash injuries from a rear-end car crash or slip and fall, side-impact collisions, bike accidents, pedestrian accidents, even low speed collisions can all have very different injuries and produce unique problems that only an expert in the field of personal injury can determine. In many cases, other health care providers can miss these injuries or just don't know what to look for. Dr. Stadnik specializes in trauma due to all types of personal injury cases.
Professional sports figures are consistently reaching new heights in their professional careers. With each passing year, new records are shattered and the human body is pushed to its limits. Everyday athletes follow suit by pushing themselves harder, choosing rigorous training patterns, and taking their diets to a new level. Despite the meticulous care and training that athletes take, they experience musculoskeletal injuries.
Radiographs, (X-rays) are often ordered and taken on patients to give the doctor an inside look at what is going on with the bone structure of the entire spine and surrounding skeletal structure. X-rays in our office are taken in a weight-bearing position (standing or sitting) to more accurately show the biomechanical stress on the spine. From these x-ray studies, the doctor can tell your current spine angles as well as any potential further issues including the potential need for additional special testing such as an MRI or CT scan. Orders for other special tests or x-rays of the extremities can be referred out to nearby facilities and coordinated as needed. In the case of auto accidents and work injuries, it is common for special radiographic views of the neck and the low back can be taken to assess specific injuries that can occur with acceleration/deceleration type injuries (whiplash injuries).
